And indeed the Noble Messengers came to the people of Firaun. 41 They rejected each one of Our signs. So We seized them with the grip of one mighty and powerful. 42 Are your unbelievers (of Makkah) any better than they? Or have you been granted any immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say, "We are a united group, and we are bound to prevail?" 44 The hosts will all be routed and will turn and flee. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad. 47 The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" 48 Indeed, We have created all things according to a measure. 49 And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye. 50 And We destroyed those like you, is there any that will remember! 51 All their deeds are recorded in their books: 52 And every small and great [thing] is inscribed. 53 [Hence, too,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves in [a paradise of] gardens and running waters, 54 in the seat of truth with an all-powerful sovereign. 55
