The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and spreading shade 30 And water poured out 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And raised couches; 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
