The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 Arise and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 thy robes purify 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
