And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
