He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 that they may understand my speech. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 To strengthen me 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 "And remember Thee without stint: 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 And indeed, another time, already We have shown thee favour, 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
