The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
