The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
