Surely in the creation of the heavens and earth and in the alternation of night and day there are signs for men possessed of minds 190 Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createdst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire. 191 Our Lord, whomsoever You admit into the Fire, You will have abased, and the harmdoers shall have no helpers. 192 Lord, we have heard a caller calling to the true faith saying, "Believe in your Lord," and we believed. Lord, forgive us our sins and remove from us our bad deeds and make us die with the virtuous. 193 Our Lord! And give us that which Thou hast promised to us by Thy messengers. Confound us not upon the Day of Resurrection. Lo! Thou breakest not the tryst. 194 And thus does their Sustainer answer their prayer: "I shall not lose sight of the labour of any of you who labours [in My way,] be it man or woman: each of you is an issue of the other. Hence, as for those who forsake the domain of evil, and are driven from their homelands, and suffer hurt in My cause, and fight [for it,] and are slain - I shall most certainly efface their bad deeds, and shall most certainly bring them into gardens through which running waters flow, as a reward from God: for with God is the most beauteous of rewards." 195 Let not the vicissitude (of the success) of those who disbelieve, in the land, deceive thee (O Muhammad). 196 a little enjoyment, then, their shelter is in Gehenna (Hell), an evil cradling. 197 whereas those who remain conscious of their Sustainer shall have gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide: a ready welcome from God. And that which is with God is best for the truly virtuous. 198 And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah: They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account. 199 O Ye who believe! persevere, and excel in perseverance and be ever ready, and fear Allah that haply ye may thrive. 200
