The people of Noah gave the lie to the Messengers. 105 When their brother Noah said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 106 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 107 So be fearful of God and listen to me. 108 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 109 "So fear Allah, and obey me." 110 ۞ They said: "Shall we believe in you, when the meanest (of the people) follow you?" 111 He said: 'I have no knowledge of what they have done. 112 Their reckoning rests with none but my Sustainer: if you could but understand [this]! 113 It is not for me to repel those who choose to believe. 114 I am only a clear warner' 115 They said, "Noah, if you do not desist, you will, certainly, be stoned to death." 116 [Whereupon] he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Behold, my people have given me the lie: 117 So decide Thou between me and them with a decision, and deliver me and those who are with me of the believers. 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 afterwards, We drowned the rest. 120 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 121 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 122
