And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
