Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 This Book, beyond all doubt, was revealed by the Lord of the Universe. 2 What! They dare say that, “He has fabricated it”? In fact it is the Truth from your Lord, in order that you warn a nation towards whom no Herald of Warning came before you, in the hope of their attaining guidance. 3 Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He mounted the throne (of authority); you have not besides Him any guardian or any intercessor, will you not then mind? 4 He disposeth every affair from the heaven unto the earth; thereafter it shall ascend unto Him in a Day the measure whereof is one thousand years of that which ye compute. 5 He knows the unseen and the seen. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 6 Who hath made everything exceeding good which He hath created. And He originated the creation of man from clay. 7 Then kept his posterity with a part of an abject fluid. 8 Then He fashioned him and breathed into him of His Spirit; and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts. Small thanks give ye! 9 They say: “Shall we be created afresh after we have become lost in the earth?” Nay, the fact is that they deny that they will meet their Lord. 10 ۞ Say: 'Death's angel, who has been charged with you, shall gather you, then to your Lord you shall be returned.' 11
