NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down, 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 "Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
