In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
