And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, far-fetched indeed is what you are promised! 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, that haply they would be guided; 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
