Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 For the living and the dead. 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
