And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships in the sea like mountains. 32 if He so wills, He stills the wind, and then they lie motionless on the sea's surface - [and] herein, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are wholly patient in adversity and deeply grateful [to God]; 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting. 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The recompense of a sin is a sin like it, but whosoever forgives and seeks to reform, his wage will be with Allah. Surely, He does not love the harmdoers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 Blame attaches only to those who subject people to wrong and commit excesses on earth. A painful chastisement awaits them. 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43
