The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
