Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 Goblets set, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth how it has been spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 you are not their keeper. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
