The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
