Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
