Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 [Pharaoh] exclaimed: "Behold, [this] your 'apostle' who [claims that he] has been sent unto you is mad indeed! 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
