Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
