Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
