Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
