The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the breath of morning 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
