I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have. 53 So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity. We have a Book with Us that speaks the truth (about everyone); and they shall in no wise be wronged. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
