Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)! 27 Shall We make those who believe and work righteous works like unto the corrupters in the earth; or shall We make the God-fearing like unto the wicked! 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 And We gave to Dawood Sulaiman, most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah). 30 When there were shown to him at eventide lightfooted coursers 31 And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]." 32 (he ordered): “Bring these horses back to me,” and then he began to gently stroke their shanks and necks. 33 And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned. 34 He said: 'Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver' 35 So we subjugated the wind to his service which carried his merchandise wheresoever he wished; 36 As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- 37 The rest of the devils were bound in chains. 38 'This is Our gift, give or withhold without reckoning' 39 Indeed an exalted position of nearness awaits him and an excellent resort. 40
