Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
