Believers, obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you are hearing. 20 And do not be like those who say, "We have heard," while they do not hear. 21 ۞ The worst of creatures in the eyes of God are those who are deaf and dumb and devoid of sense. 22 If Allah had found in them any good. He would indeed have made them listen: (As it is), if He had made them listen, they would but have turned back and declined (Faith). 23 O believers, respond to God and the Messenger when He calls you unto that which will give you life; and know that God stands between a man and his heart, and that to Him you shall be mustered. 24 And fear the turmoil which will certainly not fall only upon a few selected unjust people among you; and know that Allah’s punishment is severe. 25 Remember, when you were few and powerless in the land, afraid of despoliation at the hands of men. But then God sheltered and helped you to strength, and provided for you good things that you may perhaps be grateful. 26 O ye that believe! betray not the trust of Allah and the Messenger, nor misappropriate knowingly things entrusted to you. 27 Know well that your belongings and your children are but a trial, and that with Allah there is a mighty reward. 28
