I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their return 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 You are calling them to a Straight Way, 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
