The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 and the Book inscribed 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). 5 and the sea that is full 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
