Al-Qamar 2 of 3
The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar. 25 (We told Salih), "Tomorrow they will know who is the most arrogant liar. 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 32 The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie. 33 We loosed against them a squall of pebbles except the folk of Lot; We delivered them at the dawn -- 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning. 38 "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
