The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
