The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 undiminished and never denied 33 on raised couches. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those on the right. 38
