The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
