By no means! By the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
