The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the second followeth it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
