The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 that hide, 16 The closing night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
