The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
God the Almighty always says the truth.
