Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
