Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
