The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
