The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great event, 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
