Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
