Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 and has set up within them the moon as a light [reflected] and set up the sun as a [radiant] lamp? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
