The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those who give short measure, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a grievous day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 a written record, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
