The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 By the Promised Day! 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 when they were seated around it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
