The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
