The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 And the night when it enshroudeth him, 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 And [by] the earth and He who spread it 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 To a happy state shall indeed attain he who causes this [self] to grow in purity, 9 and truly lost is he who buries it [in darkness]. 10 Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression (by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism, and by following polytheism, and by committing every kind of sin). 11 when the most wretched of them uprose, 12 the Messenger of Allah said to them: '(This is) the shecamel of Allah, let her drink' 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 He did not fear the consequences. 15
Almighty Allah's Truth.
