۞ O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies: they are but allies of one another; and whoever of you allies himself with them becomes, verily, one of them; behold, God does not guide such evildoers. 51 (Muhammad), you have seen those whose hearts are sick, running around among the people (Jews) saying, "We are afraid of being struck by disaster." But if God were to grant you victory or some other favors, they would then regret for what they had been hiding in their souls. 52 And those who believe will say: are those they who swear by Allah their solemn oaths that they were verily with you? Their works came to naught, and they found themselves losers. 53 O you who believe! whoever from among you turns back from his religion, then Allah will bring a people, He shall love them and they shall love Him, lowly before the believers, mighty against the unbelievers, they shall strive hard in Allah's way and shall not fear the censure of any censurer; this is Allah's Face, He gives it to whom He pleases, and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing. 54 Verily, your Wali (Protector or Helper) is Allah, His Messenger, and the believers, - those who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat, and they bow down (submit themselves with obedience to Allah in prayer). 55 And whosoever befriendeth Allah and His apostle and those who have believed, then verily the party of Allah! they are the overcomers. 56
